There are many benefits to owning a business: the opportunity to gain control over your own destiny, the opportunity to make a difference, the opportunity to reach your full potential, the opportunity to reap unlimited profits, and the opportunity to contribute to society and be recognized for your efforts.
However, as a business owner, there are also many hurdles–and it requires an incredible amount of work. (I always say that everyone should run a business for a year to see how difficult it can be.)
Issues such as cash flow, managing employees, finding and keeping customers, competitors, and government rules, regulation and requirements all have to be considered. For a business to reach maximum efficiency and get to the next level, the business must run on all cylinders. This requires a plan.
Building a business is no different than building a house or other structure. Successful outcomes come from effective results. The first and most critical element is laying a foundation to support the end result. This requires a step by step approach, mastering each level.
This step is crucial and takes you from chaos to control. To reach success, you need to fully understand where you are today.
What makes you different? Why should consumers buy from you? By identifying your USP, you’ll enjoy predictable cash flow.
Look for efficiencies. Set policies and procedures to maximize your time.
Building on your foundation, the business is mature and ready to take off.
You have people, process and products running efficiently at full capacity.
You’re now ready for exponential growth through duplicating your operation in other markets and mergers and acquisitions.
Time for an exit strategy, which could involve selling the business or bringing in a team to run things while you sit on the beach.
As your coach, I will guide you through each step, challenging you to reach that next level. The old adage that “people don’t plan to fail, they fail to plan” is so relevant in running a business. Given the challenges and complexities of running a business, moving forward without a proven blueprint is a recipe for failure. I’ve been there and I’ve done that and I can help you do it too.
How great would it feel to take control of your business? Walking in your front door with a clear head knowing your business is running smoothly, making money even when you’re not there. Having happy and productive employees and a team that runs the operation giving you the time you need to take your company to the highest level. You’ve finally made it, you have control over people, process and products, which provides options for an exit strategy. Financial independence is yours. Though it may sound like a dream, it’s possible. I did it and I can show you how to do it too.
If I looked at my thirty-five years of business from a distance, a line chart would show a sharp upward progression over my entire career leading to great success. However, If I were to magnify this chart, it would show thirty-five years of ups and downs. I spent my early career working hard, but not smart, making mistake after mistake. I then dedicated myself to mastering operations, sales and marketing, people and processes. Once I put the pieces together, things were never the same. I took my startup from small-stage to multimillion-dollar organization and cracked the code to business success.
